Word Project The first project is a WORD assignment. I had already been using word extensively but I did learn a couple of  things about  the program through this class: the text boxes can be inserted at any location, and word art is really fun to work with. This program makes me feel creative even though I am not really artistic. I like any letters or information I send home to the parents of my students to look really nice. Word is an excellent program to accomplish this.
Powerpoint Project The second project was a powerpoint presentation. I love powerpoint, it is such a great tool. However, I hate watching other people's boring powerpoint presentations with slide after slide of text. Make it interesting or put it in a memo, and let me read it! Anyway, I had fun creating this powerpoint Presentation, and I learned a little bit about my favorite musicians in the process. I hope you like it!
Cognitive Tools Project For my cognitive tools project, I helped lead my students in a discussion of the relationship between practice time and playing test scores. We were able to use the program Excel to examine our data. This was a very valuable discussion for my orchestra classes.
Open Ended Project For my open ended project I wanted to help my students with note reading. I decided to do a powerpoint presentation, an excel file, and to take my students to the computer lab to learn and use the program Clef Notes. Clef Notes is a great note reading program that is appropriate for any grade level and any area of music. My lesson plan is included with my project.
WebQuest For my Webquest Project my students completed an online composer study. I tried to make it interesting by adding graphics and assigning specific roles to each student. The kids did a great job on this (although they would have preferred to play their instruments) and were very good at evaluating themselves.
